Welcome to Woodpecker class!
What an amazing time year 2 have had this half term. We have been to Chichester planetarium, where we enjoyed learning about the night’s sky. We have spent time in English lessons learning about Cakes in Space written by Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre. We have designed and made our own cakes and have also made space rockets which we pretended to fly in space. Mr Bush brought in his rockets from home and we launched them into the sky. Unfortunately one is on the roof and the other is stuck at the top of the tree! We have all really enjoyed learning about space and are looking forward to sharing our work with our parents.
Thank you to all the parents who have supported us with our learning this half term and for coming on the trip with us.
WARNING CHRISTMAS IS COMING! I’m sorry if your children start to sing Christmas songs after half term. We will be practising our Nativity and learning about Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem.
This half term we are being space adventurers, discovering new and magical planets. We will be going to the planetarium to look at the night sky and learn about how the sun and moon travel across the skies. During our maths lessons we will be learning about numbers and how we can add and subtract. During literacy lessons we will be exploring “Cakes in Space” and learning how to write a recount.
Fun and fabulous adventures await you all in Woodpecker class.
