Today the children have enjoyed making their own Christingle. We talked about the meanings of each part and how that helps Christians remember Jesus at Christmas time. The children are looking forward to bringing them home for you to light.
We have also spent time on the Reading Bus where the children shared books in pairs and as a whole class.
During phonics this week we have been practicing all the sounds we have learnt this term, along with our phonics words and spellings.
We are looking forward to our Christmas party on Thursday afternoon, where we are expecting a very special guest. Please see attachment below for details.

During Play to Learn this week the children have enjoyed creating their own celebration picture to go up onto our class displays. They talked with a friend or an adult about what they celebrate.
Our Maths Word of the Week this week is ‘More Than / Less Than’. The children have been finding more or less by using Numicon pieces and recording the jumps on a number track.
In English we have been retelling the Christmas story using our Talk 4 Writing actions.
In phonics our new letter sounds this week are: ‘j’, ‘v’ and ‘w’.
Class Update – 8th Nov 2017
This Autumn term we are thinking about different celebrations. We have been talking in class about what we do to celebrate special occasions. We have recently visited Cosham Baptist Church and St Phillips Church to learn about different celebrations which take place there.
In Maths we have been creating our own celebration themed number stories. In English we have been writing about The Christmas Story using our Talk 4 Writing story map to help us.
We are also busy rehearsing for our very special Nativity performance, learning lines and singing songs!
The children have enjoyed talking about their amazing celebration homework too.
